Country Pickins began in Doniphan, Missouri in 2021 with Brandyn and Tori, one location, a lot of work and a simple belief: a flea market could be more than a building full of booths. It could be a place where people are given an opportunity to discover, build, grow and belong.
Before there were six stores, there was one idea.
Country Pickins was not built around the goal of simply renting square footage. From the beginning, the bigger idea was to create a marketplace that worked for the people on both sides of the counter.
For shoppers, that meant a clean, organized and welcoming place where every aisle could hold something different. For vendors, it meant an opportunity to put their merchandise in front of customers without having to open, staff and operate an entire retail store of their own.
That first Country Pickins opened in Doniphan in 2021. We learned by doing, listened to the people walking through our doors, worked through the challenges that come with building a business, and kept asking the same question: How can we create more opportunity?

One location became the beginning of something much bigger. Today, Country Pickins serves six communities across Missouri and Arkansas — but the purpose behind the company is still rooted in where it started.

The stores may be filled with merchandise, but Country Pickins has always been about people. Every booth represents somebody's time, creativity, investment or dream. Every customer who walks through the door creates an opportunity for one of those people. Every employee helps make that connection possible.

One community at a time.
Country Pickins grew from Doniphan into Poplar Bluff, Sikeston/Miner, Bloomfield, Piedmont and Piggott. Six locations did not change the mission — growth gave us more places to live it out.
As the company grew, so did our responsibility. We have continued investing in the things that make the marketplace stronger: staffed checkout, customer service, vendor technology, weekly vendor payouts, Pickin Perks, marketing, organized operations and security-minded practices.
We want a customer walking into any Country Pickins to recognize the same commitment to a welcoming shopping experience. We want a vendor to know there is a company working around their booth. And we want each community to know that although Country Pickins has grown, we still believe local relationships matter.
Getting bigger only matters if we keep getting better.
Growth is not the finish line. Every new location, new vendor and returning customer gives us another reason to improve the experience.
That means continuing to listen. Continuing to evolve. Continuing to invest in our stores and our people. And continuing to remember that the Country Pickins name only means something if the experience behind it earns people's trust.
Country Pickins is not just what is on the shelves.
It's the person turning a hobby into a business. The person who found something worth giving a second life. The customer who finally finds the piece they've been looking for. The employee who grows into a leader. The family earning extra income from a booth. The community organization receiving support. And the next generation watching what can be built when people are willing to work for an idea.

Country Pickins started with one store and one opportunity. Today there are six locations, hundreds of independent vendor spaces and countless reasons for customers to walk through our doors. We do not take that growth for granted.
Our goal is to keep building a company our vendors want to grow with, our customers are excited to visit, our employees are proud to be part of and our communities are glad to have.
